Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Line Cook / Prep Cook to join our culinary team at Nonna's Trattoria, an upscale restaurant specializing in Italian and French cuisine. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking, a strong work ethic, and a desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, preparing meats, and other food preparation tasks as needed.
• Assist with cooking and plating dishes according to our restaurant’s recipes and standards.
• Maintain a clean and organized workstation, following all safety and sanitation guidelines.
• Ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality and presentation standards.
• Work collaboratively with the kitchen team to ensure timely service and customer satisfaction.
• Follow directions from the Executive Chef and Sous Chef accurately and efficiently.
• Assist in inventory management and restocking of kitchen supplies.
• Perform routine kitchen cleaning tasks, including dishwashing, equipment cleaning, and garbage disposal.
• Adapt to various duties in the kitchen as required, maintaining flexibility and readiness.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 1 year experience working as a Line Cook or Prep Cook in a restaurant setting.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must have reliable transportation to and from work.
• Ability to work flexible hours, including mornings, lunch, dinner shifts, weekends, and Sunday mornings.
• Strong ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow directions effectively.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and a passion for cooking.

Desired (but not required) Qualifications:

• Experience with ordering product and maintaining vendor relationships.
• Knowledge of food costing and portion control.
• Scheduling and staff coordination experience.
• Inventory management skills.
• Contribution to menu development and recipe creation.
