Join a Skilled Forming Team in Allegan, MI

OnStaff USA is partnering with a long-standing metal fabrication shop in Allegan to add an experienced CNC press brake professional. If you thrive on independent setups, exact bends, and a predictable daytime schedule, this could be your next home.

A Day in Your Role

Morning starts at the brake: you’ll select the right punches and dies, dial in backgauges and bend allowances, and program the hydraulic CNC press brake for the job at hand. With blueprints and travelers in front of you, you’ll create accurate bends across a mix of materials and gauges. You’ll verify results with calipers, protractors, and other metrology tools, resolve springback or crowning issues, and keep production moving. Between runs, you’ll keep the area tidy and jump in to support neighboring fabrication departments when needed.

What You’ll Handle

• Full setup and operation of hydraulic CNC press brakes, including tooling selection and fine-tuning
• Reading blueprints, job travelers, and work orders to plan each run
• Forming components to tight specifications across various materials and thicknesses
• Inspecting parts using calipers, protractors, gauges, and related precision tools
• Troubleshooting forming anomalies and communicating quality concerns
• Maintaining a clean, organized work area and assisting other teams as needed

What You Bring

• Several years of hands-on brake press experience in fabrication/manufacturing
• Strong blueprint comprehension
• Proven independence with setups and sustained production runs
• Comfort holding tight tolerances and using precision measurement tools
• Reliable attendance and solid mechanical aptitude
• Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively

Physical Demands

• Standing for extended periods
• Lifting up to 50 lbs
• Working in a shop environment with noise, dust, and metal debris

Schedule & Pay

• 1st shift, 40 hours per week
• Overtime as needed
• Pay based on experience and skill level
