The QA/QC Manager contributes to the overall success of CR Meyer and its heavy industrial customers through ensuring the boiler services provided by the company meet defined quality standards and regulatory compliance. This role involves developing and implementing quality management systems, conducting audits, monitoring processes, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring all work meets or exceeds owner requirements and applicable codes and standards.
- Leads the QA/QC efforts for all CR Meyer boiler projects.
- Evaluates QA/QC boiler standards, policies and manuals currently in place and makes recommendations for improvements to senior management.
- Works with operations to develop, implement and ensure compliance with boiler QA/QC standards and programs.
- Monitors employee certification and testing.
- Evaluates and supports boiler project specific QA/QC plans.
- Provides technical assistance to project staff and customers.
- Implements boiler QA/QC program at project site(s) including, but not limited to:
- Coordinates with site QA/QC personnel, project managers, and site superintendents to ensure boiler specifications and code inspections are met.
- Management of qualification and requalification for all National Board stamps and other company certifications.
- Utilizes EDT, Codeware and Microsoft Access software to perform tracking duties.
- Creates weld travelers and assures inspections have been completed.
- Performs onsite QA/QC inspections.
- Prepares and submits repair reports to the National Board.
- Assists with coordinating NDE inspections.
- Coordinates with the authorized inspector as required.
- Generate/develop WPSs as needed.
- Creates and submits required QA/QC packages for various boiler projects.
- Understands and interpret ASME, API and AWS codes and specifications.
- Communicates with local jurisdictional authorities to identify required licensing and permits.
- Assures welding procedures and filler metal specifications are met.
- Documentation of all quality control activities and reporting for customer and code requirements.
- Manages and directs additional QA/QC personnel and assure inspections are completed.
- Wears all assigned PPE and observes CR Meyer safety guidelines at all times.
- Due to project deadlines and demands, regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Completes all related reports and paperwork in a timely manner.
- Represents the CR Meyer brand in a positive, professional manner at all times.
- All other duties as assigned.
