IATF Quality Engineer | Coopersville, MI

Salary Range: $82,000 - $117,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
• Drive root cause analysis and implement effective corrective and preventive actions using 8D methodology.
• Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer-specific requirements across manufacturing processes.
• Develop, implement, and maintain Control Plans, Process FMEAs, and statistical process control (SPC) techniques.
• Conduct internal audits, layer process audits, and product audits to identify non-conformities and drive closure.
• Serve as a primary contact for customer quality concerns, managing resolution and communication.
• Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defect rates.

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Quality, or related technical field).
• Proven expertise in IATF 16949 standards, including practical application and auditing principles.
• Strong proficiency in core quality tools such as APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Demonstrated experience with structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
• Minimum of 3-5 years of quality engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification
• Proficiency with advanced statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional quality improvement projects
