Job Summary

Join our growing team at Andrews University! We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef Manager to lead the culinary and food service operations at our Gazebo location, a fast-casual restaurant and convenience store serving 700-800 people daily (Monday-Thursday) and 300-500 on weekends (Friday-Sunday). In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing all culinary aspects, ensuring high standards of food quality, service, and sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day culinary operations, including inventory, ordering, and receiving

• Develop and execute menus with an emphasis on local sourcing, sustainability, and food trends

• Oversee food cost control, purchasing, and inventory management

• Ensure high-quality food production, sanitation, and presentation

• Provide leadership and a service-oriented atmosphere, cooking in front of guests when needed

• Support other campus cafes when required

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining, or fast-casual environments

• Extensive knowledge of food and catering trends, with a focus on quality, sanitation, and food cost controls

• Expertise in exposition cooking and working in a fast-paced, guest-focused setting

• Experience in vegan and vegetarian cuisine, as Andrews University is entirely vegetarian

• Strong knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards

• P&L accountability and contract-managed service experience preferred

• ServSafe certification is a plus
