As a Manufacturing Process Engineer, you will be instrumental in supporting all manufacturing work within our plant, adapting to the dynamic daily changes. You will be responsible for creating routing sheets for the order of operations, interpreting customer-supplied prints, and developing model drawings based on these prints. If modifications are necessary, you will implement them, conduct studies, analyze production operations, and collaborate with the tool room on fixture and gauge concepts. Additionally, you will assist press brake operators in selecting appropriate tools for various tasks. It is important to note that this role does not involve designing from scratch or handling POs or BOMs.

Responsibilities

• Create routing sheets for order of operations.

• Interpret and develop drawings from customer-supplied prints, making necessary modifications.

• Conduct studies and analyze production operations.

• Learn and utilize calipers and gauges.

• Collaborate with the tool room on fixture and gauge concepts.

• Assist press brake operators in tool selection.

• Conduct process evaluations for new operations or changes to existing operations.

• Verify and check processes on drawings and master lists before releasing them to the floor.

Essential Skills

• 3+ years of experience using SolidWorks.

• Experience with sheet metal and fabrication.

• Proficient in reading 2D/3D CAD and engineering drawings.

• Experience in a manufacturing setting with CNCs, lasers, calipers, and gauges.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in engineering.

• Experience working with and programming lasers, specifically Mitsubishi.

• Experience with gauges and calipers.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of three buildings located in close proximity. The office building is adjacent to the manufacturing facility, with another building further down the street and an additional location in Litchfield. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain experience across various industries, including aerospace, automation, defense, energy, medical, space, and other commercial sectors. Benefits include 2 weeks of PTO and holiday pay billed back to the customer.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eaton Rapids, MI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.84 - $38.46/hr.
