Description
American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Emergency Department position at a Level I Trauma Center in Michigan, requiring an active MI RN license in hand and a minimum of 2 years of ED experience.
Details
- Works in a combined adult and pediatric General Emergency Department at a Level I Trauma Center, STEMI-certified, and Stroke-certified facility
- Patient population spans all age groups: infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
- Patient ratio of 1:4
- Night shift, 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Every other weekend required (Saturday and Sunday, applicable to both day and night shifts)
- No on-call requirements
- Floating to the Hickman unit may be required as needed
- Medication dispensing via Pyxis
- Charting via Epic — Epic experience is required
- Block scheduling is not available for this position
Requirements
- Active Michigan (MI) RN license currently in hand — pending licenses are not accepted
- Current certifications required: ACLS, BLS, NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS), PALS, and TNCC
- Minimum 2 years of ED nursing experience required
- Epic EMR experience is required
- Proficiency in dysrhythmia interpretation and management
- Experience with IV vasopressors, continuous IV sedation, and procedural sedation administration
- Experience with blood product administration and central line care/management
- Experience with CVA/stroke patient management and triage
- Knowledge of isolation precautions
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
Additional Information
- Teaching hospital and Level II Trauma Center experience are preferred
- Navy blue scrubs are required
- Parking is complimentary
- A strong teamwork approach and adherence to the facility's behavioral expectations are required
- The call-off policy is strictly enforced
- Requested time off exceeding 7 days requires management approval
- First-time travelers are not eligible for this position
- All time-off and scheduling requests must be submitted at the time of initial application
