As an Outside Sales Representative, you'll be responsible for generating new business while strengthening long-term relationships with existing customers. You'll engage with multiple buying influencersincluding engineering, purchasing, quality, and senior leadershipto identify opportunities, propose solutions, and close business. You'll execute a strategic sales plan for your territory, develop key accounts, and play a critical role in Electro-Matic's continued growth.
Essential functions include growing revenue by managing and expanding existing customer accounts, identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new sales opportunities within the territory, building trusted relationships at multiple levels, including engineering, purchasing, quality, and executive leadership, traveling throughout the assigned territory to meet with current and prospective customers, presenting product solutions through demonstrations, samples, and technical discussions, preparing pricing proposals, quotes, and sales contracts, forecasting future business and maintaining accurate pipeline and project data, collaborating with Inside Sales and Customer Service teams to support customer needs, resolving customer issues related to deliveries, orders, or project requirements, representing Electro-Matic at trade shows and industry events, staying current on products, technologies, and industry trends through training and professional development, and managing travel and entertainment expenses within budget guidelines.
Experience, education, and skills required include an associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school in Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline (Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred), 3+ years of outside sales experience in industrial automation or a closely related industry, experience with Siemens products strongly preferred, strong business acumen with excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail and accuracy, technical proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint and ability to learn and use a CRM application, strong interpersonal, organizational, planning, and problem-solving skills, valid driver's license with a good driving record, and travel will be required including overnight stays.
