Salary Range: $57,000 - $89,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, validate, and optimize CMM inspection programs from CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Interpret complex engineering drawings, GD&T specifications, and manufacturing process sheets.
• Perform first article inspections (FAI), in-process, and final inspections using CMM.
• Analyze inspection data, generate detailed reports, and present findings.
• Troubleshoot and debug CMM programs and measurement processes to ensure accuracy.
• Select appropriate probes, styli, and fixturing for various measurement applications.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to resolve measurement discrepancies and improve processes.

Recommended Qualifications

• Proficiency in CMM programming software (e.g., PC-DMIS, Calypso, MCOSMOS).
• Strong ability to read and interpret engineering blueprints, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Solid understanding of metrology principles and CMM operation.
• Experience with various CMM types and measurement techniques.
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes and their impact on part measurement.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with other metrology equipment (e.g., vision systems, laser trackers, optical comparators).
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software for model manipulation or fixture design.
• Familiarity with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and data analysis.
• Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor maintenance on CMM hardware.
