Quality Manager
Job Description
A manufacturing company in Shelby Township that specializes in powertrain components for electric, hybrid, and internal combustion engine applications is seeking a Quality Manager to lead and strengthen its quality function. This role oversees all production quality activities, drives continuous improvement, and ensures robust quality systems and certifications across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all ongoing production quality activities across the facility.
- Develop, mentor, and maintain a strong quality team and function across all shifts.
- Drive activities to improve overall production process robustness and product consistency.
- Develop, implement, and maintain the company’s Quality Management System.
- Serve as the champion for internal and external quality audits, ensuring readiness and compliance.
- Create and execute a long-term strategic plan for the quality function.
- Lead and support programs through APQP, PPAP, and launch processes to ensure successful start of production.
- Champion the corrective action system related to customer complaints, audit findings, internal issues, and other quality concerns.
- Manage scrap and hold processes to minimize waste and improve efficiency.
- Lead and participate in continuous improvement activities focused on quality, process, and performance.
- Act as the ISO 14001 champion, ensuring adherence to environmental management standards.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned to support overall business and quality objectives.
- Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a Quality Supervisor or Quality Manager role.
- Demonstrated experience in quality assurance within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong knowledge and practical experience with PPAP processes.
- Hands-on experience with APQP and launch activities.
- In-depth understanding and application of ISO standards, including ISO 14001.
- Proven ability to develop, implement, and maintain a Quality Management System.
- Experience leading internal and external audits and implementing corrective actions.
- Background in continuous improvement methodologies within production or machining environments.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience working in a CNC machining or precision metallic components environment.
- Familiarity with cold forming, flowforming, and automated machining technologies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to build and develop a high-performing quality team.
- Ability to manage scrap and hold processes and use data to drive improvements.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills for working across production, engineering, and leadership teams.
- Strategic thinking capability to develop long-term plans for the quality function.

This is a Permanent position based out of Macomb, MI.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $65000.00 - $100000.00/yr.
