Housekeeper

We are seeking an energetic person to join our team in a HOUSEKEEPING position at the NEW Best Western Byron Center.

What you get to do in this role:

• Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times.
• Maintains the hotel rooms and building to ensure a safe and clean experience for hotel guests, associates and vendors.
• Polish and/or sanitize surfaces, including furniture, fixtures, and the interior.
• Cleans and wipes windows, doors, walls, and fixtures in public areas, hallways and in rooms.
• Separate trash and recycling for proper disposal.
• Beds prepared and amenities restocked.
• Rooms checked for working lights, remotes or bathroom leaks.
• Inspects door locks to ensure that they are working properly and immediately alerts management to an unsafe situation for guests.
• Sweep and/or vacuum surrounding hallway floor surfaces.
• Performs other janitorial duties as assigned.
• Shifts available: 9 am to 3 pm; weekends 8 am to 4 pm

• What candidate traits are needed to be successful in this role?
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and associates.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Knowledge of or interest in sustainable tourism is a plus.
• Ability to scrub and scour surfaces, extending arms over head, bending, and stooping to perform cleaning tasks.
