We are looking for a skilled Staff Accountant to join our team in Sterling Heights, Michigan. In this role, you will support a multi-site service organization by managing financial operations, ensuring compliance, and delivering accurate insights to drive business decisions. Responsibilities:• Manage the month-end close process to ensure the timely and accurate preparation of financial data.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Consolidate financial results across multiple locations, eliminating intercompany transactions and identifying trends through variance analysis.
• Maintain and update financial records using QuickBooks Online/Desktop, ensuring consistency and accuracy across all sites.
• Implement best practices for accounting processes and ensure compliance with internal policies and standards.
• Leverage service industry experience to manage revenue recognition, client billing, and project-based accounting.
• Collaborate with external auditors to address audit requests and maintain internal controls to safeguard financial data.
• Partner with business unit leaders to provide actionable financial insights and assist with budgeting and forecasting.
• Stay informed about changes in accounting regulations and reporting requirements to ensure compliance.
• Contribute to special projects such as financial system upgrades and process automation initiatives.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Minimum of 4 years of accounting experience, preferably within a service industry setting.
• Advanced proficiency in QuickBooks Online/Desktop.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and advanced formulas.
• Proven experience managing financial operations for multi-site organizations.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• High level of organization with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
