Specific Functions
- Establish and execute program timelines, milestones and program commitments made with the customer while interfacing with Engineering and Operations to ensure transfer to Production of new products are in accordance with approved data.
- Maintain gross margin by program per negotiated business award.
- Ensuring that a clear line of communication occurs between customer base, and all key personnel are engaged throughout the program cycle.
- Plan and oversee installation of equipment necessary for launch.
- Cost and budget throughout the project/projects and provide data to support costs.
- Manage/ensure the following processes are executed: Prototype Orders, RFQ Process, Tooling Orders and material orders for start of launch.
- APQP, working knowledge of program/project management soft
- Develop a detailed program plan, resource requirements and overall costs to launch the program with the Program Team and present during Project Circle for final program approval.
- Manage core team, customer relationship, program tasks, communication with other departments and suppliers to ensure program milestones are achieved.
- Manage program status updates and input information utilizing the Project Creation Process.
- Elevate red risk items to Management for immediate response and resolution on showstopper issues.
- Manage, capture and process engineering changes for the life of the program.
- Ensure that appropriate technical interface during the product development cycle is established and maintained with the customer including providing support during field failures or other failed components when necessary.
- Responsible to maintain relevant customer information and systems such as APQP status, program milestones and ECN updates in the W.E.T. data base. The Program Manager needs to be adaptable in order to meet customer expectations and to ensure legal compliance. They employ a variety of measures and management systems, including the ISO/TS16949, quality management system (QMS), as well as the continual improvement process.
- Minimum 2-year degree in the Program Management field or equivalent work experience.
- Strong knowledge regarding company and customer standards.
- Ability to read and interpret documents. Strong communication skills – both verbal and written.
- Excellent interpersonal and time management skills.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office.
- Needs to have excellent analytical skills to observe the various aspects carefully.
- He or she should have a keen eye for detail work.
- Be an excellent communicator and should have the writing abilities as well.
- Prefer strong problem-solving skills
- Prefer results oriented
- Other duties as required
