Auction House Manager — Block Auction House - Metro Detroit, MI

Compensation: $42K base + commission on auction sales with a realistic first-year earning target of $70K+. Significant upside as you grow the book.

About Block Auction House: Block Auction House, a division of Aaron's Estate Sales — Michigan's largest estate sale company — specializes in fine art, antiques, and high-value collectibles. We've built our reputation on integrity, expertise, and delivering exceptional results for our consignors.

The Role: We're looking for an Auction House Manager who can do two things exceptionally well: bring in great collections and drive the team that gets them sold. This is a leadership role built around business development, production management, and deep knowledge of the fine art and antiques market. You'll be the face of Block Auction House in the collector and dealer community, and the engine that keeps our auction calendar running.

What You'll Do:

Source and secure consignments by building relationships with collectors, estate attorneys, wealth managers, gallery owners, and the broader art and antiques community. Attend shows, events, and estate previews to identify opportunities. Lead and manage the auction team — setting production schedules, driving cataloging timelines, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring every sale is executed at a high level. Evaluate and authenticate incoming items across fine art, decorative arts, antiques, jewelry, and collectibles. Develop and maintain a pipeline of future consignments through proactive outreach and networking. Collaborate on marketing and catalog presentation to maximize buyer engagement and final sale prices. Set and hit revenue targets for the auction house.

Who You Are:

You have a strong working knowledge of fine art, antiques, decorative objects, and collectibles — you can walk into an estate and quickly identify what has real value. You're a natural networker who builds trust easily with high-net-worth clients, attorneys, and industry professionals. You've managed teams and know how to hold people accountable to deadlines and quality standards without killing morale. You're organized, results-driven, and comfortable being measured on what you bring in and what your team produces. Prior auction house, gallery, or high-end estate liquidation experience is strongly preferred.

Compensation: Base salary plus commission on consignment revenue. This role has significant earning potential for someone who can build relationships and drive results. Details discussed during the interview process.
