Looking for a temporary dietitian for approximately 12 weeks to help out at skilled nursing facility.

Summary/Objective In keeping with our organization's goal of improving the lives of the Residents we serve, the Dietitian provides nutritional care to all Residents of the facility through monitoring, care planning and education. The Dietitian under limited supervision, makes recommended changes to the Resident's diet in effort to help them reach their nutritional and medical goals.

1. Provides nutrition services and medical nutrition therapy integrated with the Resident's' medical goals.
2. Evaluate, interpret, monitor and document the nutritional status and nutritional needs of Residents using established standards of care guidelines.
3. Identify and provide nutritional counseling to meet the cultural needs of Residents.
4. Write diet orders as needed.
5. Function as a member of the clinical interdisciplinary team.
6. Must be knowledgeable of individual care plans and support the care planning process by attending care planning meetings and making recommendations regarding nutritional needs of Residents.
7. Completes assigned MDS portions accurately and on time.
8. Follow established safety precautions when preforming tasks and using equipment and supplies.
9. Maintains the comfort, privacy and dignity of Residents and interacts with them in a manner that displays warmth, respect and promotes a caring environment.
10. Must answer and respond to call lights promptly and courteously when working in Resident care areas.
11. Communicates and interacts effectively and tactfully with Residents, visitors, families, peers and supervisors.
12. Attend and participate in departmental meetings and in-services as directed.

Supervisory Responsibility This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment This job operates in a health care setting. This role requires regular walking to various locations around the facility. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. This role may also come into contact with Residents who may have contagious illnesses.

Physical Demands This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work This position is part of a health care facility that is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Travel No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Food and Nutrition, Dietetics, Nutritional Sciences or similar field.
• Registered with the state as a Dietitian.

Preferred Education and Experience

• One year experience as a Registered Dietitian

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

1. Knowledge of DPH regulations.
