Robotic Welding Programmer
- Troubleshoot from CMM reports – Understand CMM reports and troubleshoot builds using CMM report data (Level 1).
- Recover robot from faults – Recover the robot from fault conditions and restart the program (Level 1).
- Adjust points and parameters – Adjust robot points and welding parameters to maintain weld quality (Level 1).
- Change programs from the PLC screen – Select and change programs from the PLC screen to support production changeovers (Level 1).
- Apply intermediate GD&T – Apply an intermediate understanding of GD&T to prints, layouts, and inspections (Level 1).
- Change out fixtures – Change out welding fixtures to support job and program changeovers (Level 1).
- Run and adjust robotic welders – Demonstrate advanced ability to run and adjust robotic welders, including harmonizing, timing, and setup of new fixtures (Level 2).
- Prepare jobs with offline programming – Utilize offline programming (OLP) software to prepare jobs (Level 2).
- Troubleshoot robot welders independently – Independently troubleshoot robot welders, engaging OEM/Miller assistance if required (Level 2).
- Apply advanced GD&T – Apply an advanced understanding of GD&T to prints, layouts, and inspections (Level 2).
- Drive process improvements – Independently interpret CMM reports, troubleshoot builds, and drive process improvements to achieve a good first piece (Level 2).
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational or technical trades training a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of industrial welding experience (required for both levels)
- Competency in Prototype Welding Technician Level 2 functions
- Hands-on experience with at least one of the following robot controllers: Motoman, Panasonic, or Fanuc
- Demonstrated PLC screen navigation and program selection
- For Level 2: verifiable offline programming experience (RoboGuide, RobotStudio, or equivalent) and independent CMM-driven troubleshooting
- Basic-to-advanced GD&T fluency, matched to the level under consideration
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise
- No travel expected for this position
- Must be eligible to work in the United States; U.S. Person status may be required for ITAR/export-control purposes
- May be subject to facility access badging, drug screening, or background check requirements specific to defense contracts
