Location: Hybrid - 4 days/week onsite Dearborn, MI
Pay: $36.65
Duration: Long term contract (W2)

Overview:
We are seeking a Hybrid Powertrain OBD Subsystem Engineer to support the development of next-generation diagnostic software for hybrid propulsion systems. This role focuses on delivering, validating, and maintaining on-board diagnostics (OBD) to meet global regulatory requirements while supporting innovation in electrified powertrain technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver OBD solutions for hybrid propulsion systems to meet global regulatory requirements
• Use Simulink to develop signal processing algorithms for requirements analysis and validation
• Support translation of prototype algorithms into production embedded software
• Perform and/or oversee HIL, SIL, dynamometer, and on-road testing for diagnostics validation
• Collect and analyze data to calibrate sensor performance and diagnostic monitoring systems
• Investigate and resolve OBD software and calibration issues with internal and external stakeholders
• Collaborate cross-functionally on design, development, and validation of diagnostic software
• Develop scripts (MATLAB, Python, or similar) to analyze system performance and support calibration
• Create calibration guides, regulatory documentation, and contribute to workshop manuals

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Control Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
• 2+ years of experience in automotive product development (hybrid/propulsion diagnostics preferred)
• Experience reviewing/analyzing C/C++, MATLAB, or Simulink (no hands-on coding required)
• Experience with data acquisition and analysis
• Strong understanding of hybrid propulsion systems and engine diagnostics
• Experience with software testing and calibration processes
• Familiarity with Jira or similar tools
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in a related field
• Experience with ATI Vision or similar data acquisition tools
• Knowledge of OBD standards and global diagnostic regulations
• Experience with HIL/SIL testing methodologies
• Exposure to diagnostic algorithm development and fault detection
• Experience with data visualization or analysis tools
• Basic Python experience
