Precision Die Shop Operations Supervisor
Are you the go-to problem solver in the die shop?
If leading people, restoring tooling to peak condition, and keeping production moving sound like your sweet spot, this role in Grand Rapids, MI is for you. You’ll direct die repair operations, enforce safety and quality, and collaborate with engineering and production to eliminate the root causes of downtime.
What you will do
- Guide and develop a team of die repair technicians with clear goals and coaching.
- Own the end-to-end repair lifecycle—diagnosis, repair, inspection, release—meeting quality targets.
- Conduct routine and deep-dive inspections; implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Work shoulder-to-shoulder with engineering and production to resolve die-related issues fast.
- Keep precise records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and tooling/material inventories.
- Lead safety practices and ensure compliance with industry standards at all times.
- Train new hires and champion ongoing skill development across the team.
What you bring
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certifications or a related degree are advantageous.
- Solid die repair background and 3+ years in a supervisory/lead capacity.
- Exposure to high-pressure die casting and high-production machining is beneficial.
- Expertise in die repair techniques, tooling, and materials.
- Confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication, detail orientation, and problem-solving.
- Strong commitment to safety and quality in every task.
