Holland Public Schools, located in Holland Michigan. The district has four elementary schools, one middle school and one high school and has an enrollment of approximately 3000 students. We offer a dual language immersion program in Spanish in grades K-8. Holland Public Schools has a diverse student population with approximately 47% Latinx, 9% Black, 6% Mulitracial, 3 % Asian and 35% White and approximately 64% free and reduced lunch.

PRIMARY JOB GOAL: Holland Public Schools seeks a qualified and experienced individual to advance the District’s efforts in school improvement. The mission of The Holland Schools is to embrace, engage and empower each student for success in an ever-changing world. Key requirements of this position include working with school administrators to enhance and align resources dedicated to instructional leadership, build effective team protocols, and develop the internal capacity to sustain data driven instructional goals.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
- Evaluates current curriculum programs and resources to maximize the impact on student achievement
- Facilitates district school improvement initiatives to ensure SMART goals, research-based best practices, action research, data analysis and monitoring of initiatives.
- Facilitates the development of focused professional staff development and effective use of professional learning communities to analyze teaching and learning for student proficiency.
- Provides strategic oversight and stewardship of all state and federal program funds, ensuring fiscal integrity, regulatory compliance, and optimal utilization. Collaborate closely with the business office and district leadership to align resources, maximize funding opportunities, and support district priorities.
- Works with district and school leadership teams to identify and implement effective turnaround strategies based upon performance-based data and longitudinal growth models.
- Consistently inspires excellence and promotes a culture of excellence and high expectations for all.
- Facilitates the District Continuous Improvement Team in the identification and implementation of district/building level reform initiatives.
- Leads the district instructional coaches in developing professional development for their leadership, monitor their schedules and performance.
- Assists the district and building level teams in curriculum mapping and implementation of the common core standards by aligning strategies and assessments.
- Facilitates the implementation of effective MTSS systems.
- Is able to accommodate adult learning styles, foster collaboration around change initiatives, and implement adaptive leadership skills.
- Maintains regular, consistent, and timely attendance.
- Works collaboratively with building leadership to implement curriculum and MTSS initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS: - MA, EdS. or PhD. in Curriculum Design, Curriculum Instruction, Urban Education or Educational Leadership
- 3 years administrative experience in a school or district
- Experience successfully building, leading and coaching a team of professional staff
- Demonstrated successful experience in a diverse educational setting
- Documented evidence of aligning curriculum to substantially close student achievement gaps and raise performance for all learners
- Documented evidence of developing district and/or school improvement plans and grants or budgets
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to work in a typical office setting, use standard office equipment, read printed materials and a computer screen, and communicate in person or over the telephone. May be occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: grasping, handling, hearing, kneeling, mental acuity, pulling, pushing, reaching, repetitive motion, speaking, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
