Responsibilities
- Evaluate the patient’s function using formal and informal testing to assess skeletal, neurological, respiratory, cardiovascular status, development, social, and cognitive functions.
- Develop a goal-driven treatment plan based on assessment data and patient tolerance; implement and monitor the prescribed interventions.
- Submit a written treatment regime as part of the plan of care, coordinating with the physician; update the plan as patient status changes; co-sign verbal orders for the Occupational Therapist Assistant as needed.
- Create a treatment schedule with frequency and duration tailored to each patient, coordinating with patient, family/c caregiver, and clinical support staff.
- Educate patients and families about pathology, prognosis, and treatment rationale; supervise Occupational Therapist Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students in accordance with affiliate and regulatory standards.
- Support the delegation of responsibilities to the Occupational Therapist Assistant and aides while maintaining patient-centered care.

Requirements
- Active Michigan Occupational Therapist License (LARA) – required
- Active American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification – required
- OT experience, primarily in acute care with some outpatient exposure – required
- Two Supervisory Reference Forms completed within the last two years – required
- Permanent address outside a 50-mile radius of the assignment location (local candidates within 50 miles will not be considered) – required
