Materials Management Clerk Location Alma, MI : Summary: This position is responsible for ensuring that inventory and direct ship supplies are received and distributed in a timely manner throughout the Health System. This involves managing the supply flow of the storeroom inventory items by receiving stock from vendors, restocking the shelves, picking order, delivering supplies, and maintaining a neat, clean, and orderly environment. Responsibilities: 25%)* Receive all incoming materials/supplies in accordance with generally accepted practices. Unloads and secures goods. Separates, verifies, researches, documents and distributes all items receivable. Ensures that proper temperature and carton integrity exists per packaging instructions. Note discrepancies and damage if applicable. Resolve issues in a timely manner. (25%)* Complete supply requisitions by removing from inventory those items requested, packaging the order, staging for delivery. (25%)* Organize stock locations to maintain the most efficient workflow, relabel shelves, and change item locations in the Materials Information System. Maintain a neat, clean and orderly storeroom. Ensures proper rotation of stock during restock process. (25%)* Distribute/deliver stock and nonstock orders throughout the Health System, depending on location. Education Specialization: GENSTUDY Essential: true Other Information: OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provides Excellent Customer Service. Replaces other supply Clerk I and II Assignments as needed. Assists Riecker Surgery Center transportation daily. Determines backorder fill priority, conducts cycle counts if asked, to ensure accuracy of inventory. Answers phone and communicates messages and solves problems with all areas at MyMichigan Medical Center-Gratiot. In the performance of the regular job duties, it is appropriate for this position to have access to the medication room and supply room for the purpose of stocking. Other duties as assigned. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS Exhibits strong knowledge of inventory control with good customer service skills. Able to lift/handle heavy objects, to stay on feet for long periods of time, and to handle physical labor for long periods of time required. Interpersonal skills needed to communicate successfully with individuals and groups and interact with people at all levels to communicate ideas and concepts in a clear and understandable manner. Mandatory tuberculosis (TB) testing must be done as required. Mandatory Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) training must also be completed annually according to the Exposure Control Plan. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND SKILLS One year inventory control/warehouse in hospital setting preferred. PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS AND TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS Exposure to stressful situations, including those involving public contact, as well as, trauma, grief and death. Able to wear personal protective equipment that includes latex materials or appropriate substitute if required for your position. Is able to move freely about facility with or without an assisted device and must be able to perform the functions of the job as outlined in the . Overall vision and hearing is necessary with or without assisted device(s). Frequently required to sit/stand/walk for long periods of time. May require frequent postural changes such as stooping, kneeling or crouching. Some exposure to blood borne pathogens and other potentially infectious material. Must follow MyMichigan Health bloodborne pathogen and TB testing as required. Ability to handle multiple tasks, get along with others, work independently, regular and predictable attendance and ability to stay awake. Overall dexterity is required including handling, reaching, grasping, fingering and feeling. May require repetition of these movements on a regular to frequent basis. Physical Demand Level: Heavy. Must be able to occasionally (0-33% of the workday) lift or carry 51-100 lbs., frequently (34-66% of the workday) 50 lbs. and or Walk/Stand/Push/Pull of Arm/Leg controls and constantly (67-100% of the workday) 20 lbs.
