Network Field Engineer

Location: Novi, MI 48374
Duration: 26 Weeks (Temp-to-Hire)
Compensation: Temp-to-Hire Opportunity (Average Annual Salary: $93,000)

Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled Network Field Engineer to install, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise network infrastructure across multiple client sites. This role requires hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment, LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols, and telecommunications systems. The ideal candidate is customer-focused, technically proficient, and comfortable traveling between locations.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and troubleshoot Cisco network devices, including switches and routers.
• Perform network installations, port activations, firmware upgrades, and switch configurations.
• Support LAN/WAN connectivity and ensure optimal network performance.
• Configure and troubleshoot routing protocols, including BGP and OSPF.
• Provide support for Avaya telephony systems and related network infrastructure.
• Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and connectivity issues.
• Document incidents, changes, and service requests using ServiceNow (preferred).
• Travel between customer sites to perform installations, maintenance, and support.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely project completion and high customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• Associate's Degree required; Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Cisco networking equipment and network installations.
• Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, routing, switching, and firmware updates.
• Experience with BGP and OSPF routing protocols.
• Familiarity with Avaya systems, port activations, and TCP/IP networking.
• ServiceNow experience is a plus.
• CCNA certification preferred; candidates actively pursuing CCNA will be considered.
• Must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel between client sites.
• Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
