Ice Cream & Sand Shack Cashier
Job Overview
Starting pay is based on age and follows Michigan's minimum wage laws:
- Ages 16–17: $11.67 per hour (Michigan youth minimum wage)
- Ages 18 and older: $13.73 per hour
Pay rates are subject to change in accordance with state minimum wage requirements.
Responsibilities
- Greet guests with a friendly, positive attitude
- Take customer orders for ice cream, snacks, and simple food items
- Prepare and serve ice cream treats, hot dogs, nachos, and other ready-to-go menu items
- Operate the cash register and process customer payments
- Maintain a clean, organized, and stocked work area
- Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines
- Work as part of a team to provide excellent customer service
Skills
- Friendly and willingness to communicate with customers
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and making change
- Dependable, responsible, and willing to learn
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform light lifting
