Safety Professional
Job details:
- The safety auditing program ensures pipeline safety and continuous improvement of field performance by closely monitoring field activities and employee performance. It applies to all field operations, including pipeline installation, excavation, drilling, pipe handling and joining, pressure testing, damage prevention, and backfilling.
- Safety auditors are responsible for evaluating field personnel’s knowledge, skills, and compliance with requirements, customer specifications, and all applicable federal, state, and regulatory codes.
- Auditors must accurately document audits and submit reports by the morning following each audit.
- Auditors are expected to conduct at least two audits per day at different job sites, with exceptions for complex or high-profile projects.
- Each crew must be audited at least quarterly, and auditors must observe five critical task activities weekly when workload allows.
- Critical tasks include damage prevention, pipe joining, pressure testing, trenchless operations, and employee knowledge of abnormal operating conditions.
- Effective communication is required, with audit findings discussed on-site with foremen or competent personnel to prevent repeat issues. Additional auditor responsibilities may include attending meetings, working with regulators, training and coaching, staying current on regulations, and supporting continuous improvement of the inspection program.
- OSHA & CPR Certifications.
- Preferred qualifications include at least five years of gas utility experience, strong knowledge of customer specifications, a high school diploma or GED, computer and basic math skills, proficiency in English, and strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
