About New Life

New Life is a growing church in Gillette, Wyoming, with an average weekend attendance of 1,300. We have a young congregation with many children, teenagers, and dedicated volunteers. Gillette is a city of young, blue-collar families blessed by the abundance of natural resources. We are located just over an hour east of the Big Horn Mountains on Interstate 90 and an hour west of South Dakota. New Life’s mission is to encourage people to come as they are and become the people God created them to be.

Job Description

The Executive Pastor is the Lead Pastor’s primary partner in leading the church. This role combines pastoral leadership with organizational oversight—ensuring New Life is spiritually vibrant, financially healthy, and structurally strong. The Executive Pastor will lead staff and department directors, oversee finance and facilities, and drive alignment so that every ministry moves toward our shared mission and vision.

• Proven experience in staff leadership, strategic planning, and church administration
• Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and oversee financial systems with integrity
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
• A pastoral heart that cares for people while holding them accountable to shared goals

• Leadership: Inspires and directs staff toward clear goals and outcomes
• Strategic Planning: Establishes objectives, measures progress, and adjusts as needed
• Financial Oversight: Guides budgeting, reporting, and stewardship of resources
• Operational Management: Ensures facilities and systems effectively support ministry
• Collaboration: Builds trust, teamwork, and alignment across the organization
• Communication: Speaks and writes with clarity, persuasion, and strong command of English

Responsibilities and Expectations

Lead and support staff and department directors, providing clarity, coaching, and accountability

Partner with the Lead Pastor to set annual and quarterly goals, measure progress, and celebrate wins

Ensure all ministries are aligned with New Life’s mission, vision, and values

Oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and stewardship of church resources

Manage HR processes and ensure healthy staff culture and systems

Serve as a strategic voice for growth, replication, and new ministry opportunities

Perform other duties as assigned by the Lead Pastor

Department

The Executive Pastor reports to the Lead Pastor. Each department director reports to the Executive Pastor.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
