Powered Industrial Truck Operator (Hi‑Lo) - Material Flow

A day in the life in Grand Rapids, MI

Step onto our warehouse floor and start your shift with a pre-op check of your Hi‑Lo. You’ll stage inbound pallets, shuttle materials to the right aisles, and keep product moving so teams downstream can hit their goals. When trucks back into the dock, you’ll load and unload safely and efficiently, verify counts, and record movements using basic computer tools. Throughout the day you’ll coordinate with shipping/receiving and production, follow lock‑step safety practices, and immediately flag any equipment issues or hazards. You’ll also help with periodic stock counts and operate supporting equipment like the palletizer to keep the flow seamless.

What you’ll handle

• Operate a Hi‑Lo forklift to move, locate, and reposition product within the warehouse
• Load and unload trailers and containers with a strict focus on safety
• Complete daily equipment inspections and document findings
• Maintain accurate inventory movement records and assist with cycle/stock counts
• Partner closely with teammates to achieve production targets and deadlines
• Follow all equipment and facility safety protocols without exception
• Report equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately

About you

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Current Hi‑Lo forklift certification (required)
• Prior warehouse Hi‑Lo experience is a strong plus
• Sharp attention to detail and the ability to follow procedures precisely
• Capable of lifting heavy items and performing physical tasks throughout the shift
• Clear communicator with a team-first mindset
• Open to varied schedules; able to work different shifts, weekends, and overtime as needed
