Civil Project Manager

Our client is a well-established civil engineering firm known for delivering high-quality infrastructure solutions. They work closely with architects, agencies, and consultants to bring innovative and efficient designs to life. They are looking for a Civil Project Manager who can lead projects, guide teams, and maintain strong client relationships while ensuring successful execution from start to finish.
Position Overview
The Civil Project Manager will oversee civil engineering projects through all phases. This includes planning, design coordination, budgeting, scheduling, and quality assurance. The role requires a strong understanding of municipal requirements, engineering standards, and project execution strategies. You will also support team development and ensure that all work meets safety and compliance expectations.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead client communication and develop clear project scopes, budgets, and schedules
• Oversee design elements involving stormwater, grading, erosion control, and site infrastructure
• Use AutoCAD Civil 3D and related software to support design and drafting needs
• Conduct site visits, review technical data, and prepare project reports and documentation
• Monitor budgets and timelines, track progress, and secure approvals for changes
• Mentor junior engineers and maintain organized project records
Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Active Michigan Professional Engineer license (PE)
• Minimum 5 years of experience managing civil engineering projects
• Strong understanding of zoning ordinances and municipal approvals
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D
• Strong leadership, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience working directly with clients, agencies, and multidisciplinary teams
