Position Overview

Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School is seeking a faith-filled, dedicated, and compassionate Fifth Grade Teacher who is committed to living out the mission of our school. The ideal candidate is a team-oriented educator with a growth mindset, a strong understanding of Catholic values, and a sincere desire to help each student grow in faith, knowledge, and character.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain a Christ-centered classroom environment where students are encouraged to live out their faith each day.
• Deliver engaging, standards-based instruction that promotes academic excellence and a love of learning.
• Model and promote personal discipline, respect, kindness, and responsibility in and out of the classroom.
• Collaborate closely with colleagues and administration to support school-wide initiatives and student success.
• Communicate effectively and positively with parents, working together as partners in each child’s education and faith formation.
• Integrate Catholic teachings and traditions into daily lessons and classroom activities.
• Participate actively in the school’s spiritual life, including prayer, liturgies, and service opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education.
• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate (or eligibility for one).
• Catechist certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience in an elementary classroom setting preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to Catholic education and a faith-based approach to teaching.
• Kind, trustworthy, and reflective educator who strives for continual growth and improvement.
