Summary:
The Costing Engineer develops accurate cost estimates for new RFQs, engineering changes, and VAVE requests. This role supports multiple clients and teams while driving improvements to costing methods, tools, and standards for greater efficiency and accuracy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop detailed BOMs and cost estimates for labor, materials, tooling, and equipment.
• Validate and analyze cost data for accuracy and consistency.
• Support sales and project teams in bid preparation and technical presentations.
• Identify cost optimization opportunities and assess technical and financial risks.
• Collaborate with procurement and manufacturing teams to achieve cost targets.
• Compare estimated vs. actual costs and recommend improvements for future quotes.
• Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) for costing efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
• 3–5 years’ experience in costing or related engineering roles.
• Experience with injection-molded plastics, tooling, and assembly.
• Strong analytical, financial forecasting, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficient with cost estimation tools (ISIS), CAD, and Microsoft Office.
• Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking abilities.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged computer work; occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
• Travel as needed.
