Senior Engineer
job summary:
Large utility is looking for a Senior Engineer in Jackson, MI. This Engineer position requires a Bachelor's degree in a related field and relevant experience to utilize analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills to provide I&C design support and manage all consulting activities (SOW, RFQs, technical reviews) for high-voltage electric distribution substation projects. responsibilities:
- Deliver multi-discipline engineering design and leadership for high-voltage electric distribution projects.
- Develop I&C designs, including schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical layouts.
- Perform project scoping, AC/DC load studies, and procurement support.
- Fulfill the Project Engineer role by managing the overall execution of capital projects.
- Create Construction Scopes of Work (SOW) and master document lists.
- Schedule and lead 30/60/90% design reviews with all engineering disciplines.
- Conduct constructability reviews with field teams and support on-site commissioning.
- Perform initial site visits to coordinate with field personnel before engineering begins.
- Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across various design functions.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision while maintaining effective team communication.
- Proficiency in basic computer programs such as the Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent analysis, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Work well independently with minimal supervision, as well as in a team setting with other engineers and related colleagues.
