IATF Quality Engineer | Otsego, MI

Salary Range: $84,000 - $119,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

• Ensures compliance with IATF 16949 standards and customer-specific requirements.
• Leads problem-solving activities using structured methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys) for internal and external quality issues.
• Develops and maintains FMEAs, Control Plans, and Process Flow Diagrams.
• Manages the PPAP submission process, ensuring all customer requirements are met.
• Conducts internal and supplier quality audits to verify QMS effectiveness.
• Drives continuous improvement initiatives based on quality data analysis and lean principles.
• Monitors key quality performance indicators (KPIs) and implements corrective actions as needed.

Recommended Qualifications

• Comprehensive knowledge and practical application of IATF 16949 standard requirements.
• Proficiency in core automotive quality tools: APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, and MSA.
• Demonstrated experience with root cause analysis and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
• Experience conducting internal or supplier audits against IATF 16949.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (e.g., Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing) or a related technical field.
• Strong analytical skills for process control, data interpretation, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Bonus Qualifications

• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification
• ASQ Certified Quality Auditor (CQA) certification
• Proficiency with statistical analysis software (e.g., Minitab, JMP)
• Experience with VDA 6.3 standards or specific OEM Customer Specific Requirements (CSRs)
• Familiarity with Quality Management System (QMS) software implementation or administration
