Position Summary

The Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) will support the Director of Nursing (DON) in managing the day-to-day clinical operations of our Skilled Nursing Facility. The ADON will use their leadership and clinical expertise to ensure high-quality resident care, regulatory compliance, and exceptional communication between residents, families, and staff.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the DON in overseeing nursing operations to ensure compliance with MI Department of Health (DOH) regulations and Allegria Village policies.

  • Promote excellent resident and family satisfaction through proactive communication and customer service.

  • Coordinate resident transfers, re-admissions, and care plan reviews.

  • Supervise documentation, EMR/EHR maintenance (PCP experience is a plus), and regulatory recordkeeping.

  • Conduct daily rounds, follow up on concerns promptly, and ensure care plans are effectively implemented.

  • Lead staff education initiatives including new hire orientation, in-service training, and monthly nursing meetings.

  • Serve as liaison between management and frontline nursing staff to promote collaboration and efficient communication.

  • Participate in utilization review (UR) meetings and family care conferences.

  • Perform quarterly medication cart audits per MI regulations.

  • Support a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and accountability among the nursing team.

Qualifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Michigan (required).

  • Minimum of 2–3 years of nursing leadership experience , preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.

  • Strong knowledge of MI DOH regulations and clinical compliance standards.

  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

  • Experience with EMR/EHR systems (PCP) and clinical documentation.

  • Demonstrated ability to train, mentor, and motivate nursing staff.
