Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A school district in Sterling Heights, MI, is seeking three paraprofessionals to provide essential support to students with behavioral challenges. These positions involve working onsite in either 1:1 or classroom settings, assisting with both instructional and behavioral interventions to promote student success and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional and behavioral support tailored to students with behavioral needs.
- Implement behavior intervention plans under the guidance of teachers and support staff.
- Encourage academic engagement and assist in maintaining a safe learning environment.
- Collaborate with educational teams to meet the individual needs of students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- At least one full school year of experience working with students who have behavioral challenges and special needs in a school setting.
- CPI Certification is preferred.Candidates must meet one of the following:
- Minimum of 60 college credits.
- Associate degree or higher.
- Passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.Additional Requirements:
- Updated resume.
- Two professional references from previous managers or supervisors.
Position Details:
- Location: Onsite within the district boundaries (exact location TBD).
- Hours: 35 hours per week.
- Contract Duration: Immediate start through June 11, 2026.
- Number of Positions: 3.
