General Summary: Department Heads are responsible for maximizing departmental sales and profitability, along with minimizing expenses. They also ensure that their department is optimally stocked and merchandised and that customer service is always the #1 focus. Department Heads contribute to the growth and development of their assigned department and training of other store associates.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• Promote customer service as the #1 priority
• Accountable for assigned departmental integrity and continuous utilization of personnel
• Ensure department is front, faced and product pulled down from top stock
• Ensure department floors, shelves and overstocks are labeled, clean and safe
• Assist in planning for sales and major holiday or promotional events (i.e. Fathers Day, Mothers Day etc.)
• Assist in training and developing store staff with goals for growth and success in their departments
• Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring that all customers are acknowledged, customer needs are met, and concerns are resolved quickly

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Ability to provide motivation and leadership to associates storewide in a fair and impartial manner
• Ability to stand for an extended period of time
• Able to walk, reach, and bend to perform job duties
• Move and handle merchandise and fixtures up to 40 pounds
