SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS:

This role places a heavy emphasis on the technical sales and support aspect of our Metris digital solution package which includes the VDP (visual die protection), VQI (visual quality inspection) and the machine application solutions to monitor the condition of the equipment. Service and supporting roles, as outlined below, are also an integral part of this position.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Software design and development

• Responsible to support the sales team during the sales process of the Metris digital solutions of products.
• Responsible to collaborate with the system engineers in Germany to add functionality and improvements to the Metris digital solutions.
• Using demonstration kits give onsite demonstrations of digital products to customers.
• Assess customers equipment and requirements to make recommendations on suitable digital solutions and gather necessary information for quotations to be developed.
• Maintain PLC control interface to the Metris digital solutions based on a variety of programmable controllers, such as Siemens S7F and TIA, Allen Bradley ControlLogix and others.
• Author technical documentation such as operator manuals and technical training handbooks.

Service and supporting roles

• Support the Field Service Group in preparation of installations and software updates.
• Assist onsite installation if required.
• Visit customers to support the sales team on sales or project meetings.
• Interface with the customer as needed to resolve issues and technical concerns.
• Supports service and new machine sales with technical information when requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor degree in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering is preferred
• Experience in industrial control systems is a plus. (Rockwell Studio 5000, Siemens S7, TIA Portal)
• Experience with industrial networking such as PROFINET and EtherNet/IP
• Familiar with ERP systems, preferably SAP.
• Ability to travel, nationally and abroad.
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint)
• Possess strong analytical aptitude
