Lean Transformation Manager, Multisite Manufacturing

Based at Wayne Wire’s Northwest Michigan headquarters, you’ll start your day with a gemba walk, sleeves rolled up, partnering with teams on the floor to spot waste, stabilize variation, and elevate safety. By midday you might be mapping a process across facilities, aligning a sourcing strategy with Purchasing, or standing up a poka‑yoke to lock in quality. Before the day closes, you’ll review ERP data to validate gains in Takt time, floor space utilization, and overhead, and prep a cross‑plant work transfer to balance load and boost customer satisfaction.

What you’ll lead

• Hands‑on facilitation of continuous improvement projects that eliminate waste and reduce variability across multiple plants.
• Analysis, standardization, and implementation of manufacturing processes used throughout our global production footprint.
• Identification and sharing of best practices; gather input across the Manufacturing team.
• Diagnosis of productivity issues tied to quality, cost, timing, and environmental factors; validate process improvements.
• Collaboration with Purchasing on sourcing strategy decisions.
• Root cause analysis of quality problems and deployment of durable solutions.
• Documentation of gains in manufacturing efficiency, Takt time, floor space utilization, and overhead reduction.
• Evaluation of machinery and processes; recommend changes that improve operator performance and ergonomics/safety.
• Execution of work transfer projects to level workloads and increase customer satisfaction.
• Mobilize resources that don’t report to you directly to achieve team objectives; other related duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Proficiency in data analysis and manipulation; strong troubleshooting skills.
• Deep familiarity with continuous improvement, Lean manufacturing principles, and Six Sigma.
• Experience with Process Engineering, APQP, Quality Control, ISO 9001, root cause analysis.
• AS9100 and NADCAP experience a plus; ISO 9001 certification experience valued.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment; knowledge of manufacturing methods and procedures.
• Ability to write manufacturing control plans.
• Attention to detail; meticulous, thorough work style with strong prioritization and multitasking.
• Exceptional, proactive communication; collaborative approach to idea generation and process improvement.
• Capacity to analyze complex functions and procedures to create logical, practical solutions; systematic problem solver.
• Functional and technical depth to operate effectively across teams.
• Experience with metals and wire mesh manufacturing processes a plus.
