POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant General Manager is responsible for oversight and planning of daily operations and team member scheduling. This position will participate in strategic planning, administrative duties, inventory, customer service, animal care, and overall performance support.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Interviewing, onboarding, and training team members
- Strategically & efficiently creating and deploying staff schedule; effectively distributing responsibilities among staff; directs team to adjust responsibilities as needed
- Overseeing and maintaining compliance with OSHA standards and operational objectives
- Modeling and enforcing positive company culture
- Conducting performance reviews and ongoing performance support; ensuring achievement of both short- and long-term plans for improvement
- Identifying and developing team leaders; supervision & ongoing support of team leaders and staff
- Providing exemplary customer service; leading exceptionally organized front office procedures regarding customers and guests
- Ensuring wellness standards are met for the maximum comfort of each guest
- Demonstrating strong, organized operational skills; ability to adapt to changing needs of daily tasks or needs of customers and guests
- Proactively ordering supplies and inventory as needed for company success and productivity
- Responsible for ensuring consistent and efficient workflow among team members
- Creating and maintaining real-time updates of SOPs
- Actively updating marketing materials and posting to social media
EXPERIENCE
3-5+ years’ progressive leadership experience in animal care, husbandry, and/or customer service. Experience working with dogs of all sizes and temperaments. Fear-free certification preferred. Valid driver’s license required.

- Possess exceptional leadership skills
- Demonstrate resilience and positivity in high volume intake and departure of guests
- Skilled in conflict resolution
- Progressive experience in animal care and hospitality
- Ability to effectively and professionally communicate both verbally and in writing
- Role model in kind, compassionate, and caring behavior toward humans and dogs
- Willingness to learn animal management procedures and force free handling such as canine body language, force free dog training, and canine enrichment
- Competent in fear-free handling of dogs, cats, and small animals
- Exceptional administrative skills and ability to utilize company lodging and scheduling platforms
- This position is required to be onsite unless otherwise approved by management
- This position is required to report to work on most weekends, holidays, and heavy travel seasons
