Key Responsibilities

• Source and evaluate suppliers for raw materials, components, and MRO items.
• Negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Generate and manage purchase orders accurately and efficiently.
• Monitor inventory levels to ensure material availability and minimize excess stock.
• Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality teams on material specifications.
• Drive cost reduction initiatives through strategic sourcing and negotiation.
• Resolve supplier performance issues related to quality, delivery, and compliance.

Recommended Qualifications

• 3-5+ years of direct purchasing experience within a manufacturing environment.
• Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems for procurement processes (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics).
• Demonstrated strong negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contract management skills.
• Ability to interpret technical specifications, blueprints, and understand manufacturing processes.
• Proven track record of cost reduction, strategic sourcing, and supplier performance improvement.

Bonus Qualifications

• Familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials, or components relevant to the industry.
• Experience utilizing advanced ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP MM, Oracle SCM) for purchasing functions.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma principles.
• Certifications in supply chain management (e.g., CPSM, CPIM).
• Experience with global sourcing and international logistics.
