Job Description

This position serves as a Human Resources Technician within the Michigan State Housing Development Authority (MSHDA), Office of Human Resources - Payroll and Transactions. The incumbent is responsible for providing technical support by ensuring the accurate processing and maintenance of employee records, as well as delivering guidance to employees and managers in areas such as onboarding, payroll, compensation, and other human resource activities. Key responsibilities include maintaining personnel files, supporting payroll processes, assisting with classification and selection activities, and contributing to employee engagement initiatives. In addition, this position is responsible for interpreting and applying MSHDA policies, Civil Service Rules and Regulations, and collective bargaining agreements as they relate to timekeeping and related HR matters.

Based on operational needs, hybrid remote work and alternate work schedule requests for this position may be considered. Paid Parental Leave:Eligible employees can take 12 weeks of paid leaveimmediately after a birth or adoption to allow needed time together at home with a new child.
Paid Holidays:Eligible employees receive 13 or 14 paid holidays each year including New Year's Eve and Day, Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, the Fourth of July, Labor Day, Election Day, Veterans Day, Thanksgiving, Thanksgiving Friday, Christmas Eve and Day.
