About the Internship

As a Communications Intern, you'll gain invaluable hands-on experience, directly contributing to our mission of empowering children and families. You will be instrumental in helping developing engaging content, executing targeted outreach campaigns, and honing essential skills in copywriting, graphic design, and web content management. This role is part of a collaborative team, who are dedicated to helping you learn and grow.

This in-person internship, running from September 1 to December 12, includes a mandatory orientation on August 28 (9 am 2 pm) at our office. A $500 stipend is provided to assist with related expenses (food, housing, transportation), and college credit is available.

What You Will Be Doing

• Collaborate with the Communications Team on diverse projects and daily operations.
• Assist in creating, managing, and evaluating engaging communications and marketing content.
• Assist with and manage targeted outreach campaigns, including mailing and programmatic initiatives.
• Ensure all communications align with Family Futures branding and standards.
• Research relevant demographic sources to inform strategies.
• Execute website maintenance and quality assurance.
• Perform copywriting and editing for various materials.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in college or a recent graduate.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively in a team and work independently.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Detail-oriented with exceptional time management and organizational abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Commitment to working at least 15 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

• Understanding of design principles.
• 
  Experience with email marketing platforms (e.g., MailChimp).
• 
  Familiarity with managing social media platforms including Facebook, TikTok, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram.
• 
  Proficiency in audio and video editing.
• 
  Experience with WordPress and/or Elementor.
• 
  Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
• General understanding of Google Analytics and Facebook Analytics.
