Controls Design Assistant Manager
Responsibilities:
- Support the Controls Engineering Manager in leading and mentoring a team of and Controls Designers and PLC Controls Engineers in Managers absence.
- Assist in managing project timelines, resource allocation, and workload distribution across the team.
- Oversee and coordinate control system design, programming, and integration activities.
- Ensure timely and accurate release of control system prints and documentation to the shop floor.
- Monitor project progress, track job hours, and provide regular updates to senior management.
- Maintain adherence to customer specifications, industry standards, and internal best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the Controls department.
- Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support as needed.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance evaluations of team members.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in Controls Engineering, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong understanding of automation controls systems, including Allen Bradley and Siemens platforms.
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Familiarity with industry safety standards and electrical codes.
- Ability and willingness to travel minimally for project support or customer meetings.
- Experience with project management tools and methodologies is a plus.
