Senior Data Architect

Akkodis is seeking a Senior Data Architect for a Contract with a client in Dearborn, MI (Hybrid). This role requires a strong hands-on data engineering foundation with the ability to design scalable, governed data systems .

Rate Range: $60/hour to $68/hour; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Senior Data Architect job responsibilities include:

• Design and govern scalable analytics data platforms—defining data models, standards, and architecture patterns to support enterprise analytics and operational use cases.

• Build and optimize end-to-end data pipelines (batch and streaming) and transformation layers using production-quality code with strong software engineering practices.

• Model analytics-ready datasets (e.g., star/snowflake schemas, semantic layers) and implement robust data quality, lineage, and metadata practices.

• Collaborate across architecture and engineering to translate enterprise architecture principles into practical data engineering solutions and delivery roadmaps.

• Optimize performance and cost across data pipelines, storage, and queries (e.g., BigQuery/GCP), ensuring reliability, security, and governance.

• Lead code reviews and best practices adoption (testing, CI/CD, versioning, observability) to improve developer productivity and system resiliency.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical field.

• 6–10 years in IT with at least 4 years focused on data engineering, data architecture, or related areas.

• Strong hands-on programming and data engineering skills with proven ability to build, optimize, and deliver production-grade data systems.

• Meaningful exposure to data architecture practices, including designing scalable governed data platforms, data modeling, and analytics system design.

Pay Details: $60.00 to $68.00 per hour
