Shift Leader Trim/Final Process
Description
The Role
In this role you will be responsible for managing and leading a team in Trim/Final Process, developing operational plans or new processes, in support of the organization’s business strategies with a direct impact on the organization's overall business results.
What You’ll Do (Responsibilities)
You will coach, train, develop and evaluate employees. You will provide assistance in analyzing and solving complex manufacturing problems, and assist in obtaining resources to effectively perform operations in addition to the following:
Nearly constant contact with others outside the work group
Administers divisional and Corporate policies
Meets cost, schedule and quality requirements
Maintains Corporate and unit management control systems, budget and other information necessary to monitor performance in addition to maintaining safety and good housekeeping standards
Complies with the terms of local and national labor agreements
Assist in the forecasting of areas of responsibility and Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job or project
Work involves a considerable amount of initiative in decision-making accompanied by a high level of independent discernment. Assists in the overall direction and coordination of manufacturing activities.
Your Skills and Abilities (Required Qualifications)
7+ years of manufacturing experience in a plant environment
3+ years of people leadership experience
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience
Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects, effective project planning in terms of resources, strategies, cost, and time, with ability to meet project timelines
High level of analytical ability where problems are complex
Knowledge of work measurement and work standards
Knowledge of basic manufacturing and assembly processes
Demonstrated technical and professional skills in job-related area required
Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals required
Establishes a course of action to accomplish completion of the job and/or project
Coordinates input from internal/external customers to better understand customer needs and/or perceptions
Keeps abreast of current product developments and trends in areas of expertise
Actively identifies new areas for learning and takes advantage of learning opportunities
What Can Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Prior experience with production manufacturing office and floor assignments
Multi plant and/or multi-functional experience
Experience/knowledge of GM Global Manufacturing Systems (GMS)
Knowledge of Continuous Improvement Process (CIP)

The selected candidate will be required to travel <25% for this role.
