Software Engineer (Full‑Stack / ABAP)

Akkodis is seeking a Software Engineer (Full‑Stack / ABAP) for a Contract role with a client in Dearborn, MI . The ideal candidate will have IT experience, including software development, with proficiency in two coding languages or advanced mastery of one. This role involves full lifecycle software development—from architecture to deployment—along with strong experience in SAP ABAP modern frameworks, data modeling, and backend services.

Rate Range: $65/hour to $74/hour ; The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Software Engineer job responsibilities include:

• Engage with customers to deeply understand use cases, pain points, and functional needs, ensuring user‑centric software solutions.

• Design, develop, and deliver high‑quality software using modern tools, programming languages, frameworks, methodologies, and Agile practices.

• Assess application requirements to determine optimal technology stacks, integrations, and deployment strategies.

• Create high‑level software architecture documenting system components, relationships, and interfaces.

• Collaborate effectively with product owners, designers, architects, and other cross‑functional teams.

• Define and implement software testing strategies, guidelines, and best practices for quality and compliance.

• Continuously improve application performance, reliability, and efficiency by adopting modern technologies and optimization methods.

• Apply software engineering practices such as TDD, CI/CD, and secure coding.

Desired Qualifications:

• 6+ years of total IT experience.

• 4+ years of software development experience.

• Proficiency in two coding languages OR advanced hands‑on mastery of one core language.

Experience Preferred (SAP‑specific):

• Strong Object‑Oriented ABAP (OOPs), SQLScript, Performance tuning

• Modern ABAP Frameworks: RAP (RESTful ABAP Programming Model), BOPF

• CDS Views, Annotations, Virtual Data Models (VDM)

• Web Services: Data service development & debugging, REST APIs

• UI/UX Exposure: SAP Fiori / UI5

• Understanding backend‑to‑Fiori integration

• SAP BTP Knowledge:

  • Subaccounts

  • Destinations

  • Connectivity Service

Pay Details: $65.00 to $74.00 per hour
