Database Engineer - (Hybrid) - Remote | WFH

Are you passionate about data and eager to help shape the technical design of applications that support business success? We are seeking a skilled Database Engineer to join a dynamic team. In this role, you will work closely with an application development team to design, develop, and support both new and existing applications. You'll ensure that technical solutions align with business needs while providing guidance to other developers. This is a fantastic opportunity to leverage your expertise in SQL, PL/SQL, and database design within a collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Support and contribute to the design and development of new and existing projects by conducting data and process modeling activities.
Develop entity, logical, and physical data models to meet application requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure that the architecture of applications aligns with business objectives.
Provide expert guidance in database design, including both logical and physical models, specifically with Oracle and SQL Server.
Troubleshoot and optimize SQL queries and PL/SQL scripts to improve performance.
Integrate software components into cohesive, fully functional systems.
Create prototypes and mockups for user feedback and approval.
Document processes and flowcharts to ensure a smooth system requirement flow.
Work on large-scale agile projects, ensuring consistent data performance and management.
Enhance metadata management, data modeling, and relevant tools such as Erwin or ER Studio.

Key Requirements:

8+ years of experience in designing and reviewing logical and physical data models using SQL and/or PL/SQL.
6+ years of hands-on experience with relational, dimensional, and/or analytic database systems.
6+ years of experience in writing SQL packages, functions, triggers, and handling mass data updates and deletions.
3+ years of experience in query optimization and performance tuning.
3+ years of experience in data conversion and transformation between systems.

Work Schedule:

Full-time, 8-hour shifts from Monday to Friday

Hybrid remote in Lansing, MI (Candidates must be able to reliably commute or relocate to Lansing before starting the role.)
