Job Summary:

The Pizza Maker/Cashier is a dual-role position responsible for preparing high-quality pizzas and menu items, providing excellent customer service, and assisting with various operational tasks at Enzo’s Pizzeria. This role includes food preparation, handling customer orders and complaints, inventory support, opening/closing duties, and covering shifts when needed. Candidates must be flexible, as the role may require staying later than scheduled to meet business demands. The ideal candidate is a team player with a passion for food and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Food Preparation: Prepare dough, sauces, toppings, and menu items according to Enzo’s recipes and quality standards. Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene protocols.

• Customer Service: Greet customers, take orders accurately via phone or in-person, and process payments using the POS system. Maintain a positive, welcoming attitude to enhance customer satisfaction.

• Customer Complaint Resolution: Address customer concerns promptly and professionally, listening actively, offering solutions (e.g., replacements or discounts per company policy), and escalating complex issues to the General Manager or Assistant Manager when necessary.

• Cashier Duties: Handle cash and card transactions, balance the register at the end of shifts, and ensure accurate order processing.

• Inventory & Waste Management: Assist in monitoring inventory levels, restocking supplies, and conducting stock checks. Help minimize waste through proper portion control and tracking of perishables.

• Opening/Closing Procedures: Perform opening and closing tasks, such as setting up equipment, cleaning workstations, organizing the store, and securing the premises.

• Shift Coverage: Cover shifts for absent team members as needed, including preparing food, taking orders, and assisting customers to ensure smooth operations.

• Team Support: Collaborate with colleagues to maintain a clean, efficient, and positive work environment. Support training of new staff as directed by management.

• Operational Support: Assist with equipment maintenance, cleaning, and other tasks to ensure a safe and organized workplace.

• Compliance: Adhere to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including proper food handling and workplace safety standards.

• Flexible Hours: Be prepared to stay later than scheduled to complete tasks, assist with high-volume periods, or cover operational needs.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in food preparation or customer service, preferably in a pizzeria or fast-paced restaurant, is a plus but not required (on-the-job training provided).

• Basic knowledge of food safety practices and willingness to learn pizza-making techniques.

• Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle complaints professionally.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and staying later than scheduled as needed.

• Excellent multitasking and communication skills with a team-oriented mindset.

• Comfortable using POS systems and handling cash transactions (training provided).

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; food safety certifications (e.g., ServSafe) are a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a fast-paced, high-temperature environment.

• Comfortable with repetitive tasks such as dough prep, chopping, cleaning, and cashier duties.

Pay: $12.48 - $14.00 per hour
