CNC Machine Operator
Waterjet Operator
Rockford, MI
Full-Time | 1st Shift (7:30am-4pm Monday-Friday)
Pay: $18/hr
Position Summary
The Waterjet Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC waterjet cutting equipment to produce accurate, high-quality parts. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC waterjet machines to cut metal, plastic, stone, or composite materials.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and CAD files to determine cutting requirements.
- Load materials, secure fixtures, and monitor cutting operations to ensure quality and accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and measuring tools to verify specifications.
- Adjust machine parameters to optimize cut quality and cycle times.
- Perform routine maintenance such as nozzle changes, cleaning tanks, and replacing consumables.
- Troubleshoot machine and process issues and communicate concerns to maintenance or supervision.
- Accurately document production data and follow standard operating procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with OSHA and company policies.
Qualifications
- Previous experience operating CNC waterjet equipment preferred.
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Experience with precision measuring instruments.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC controls.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
