Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HK Laser Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining our HK laser cutting machines to produce high-quality metal parts according to customer specifications. This role requires a high degree of technical skill, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Set up and operate HK laser cutting machines, including loading and editing machine programs.

• Load and unload raw materials and finished parts from the laser cutting machine.

• Monitor machine operation and make adjustments as needed to ensure optimal performance and quality.

• Perform first-part and in-process quality inspections to ensure parts meet blueprint specifications and quality standards.

• Read and interpret blueprints, work orders, and other technical documents.

• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on laser equipment to ensure it is clean and operating safely. This includes cleaning lenses, changing nozzles, and emptying dust collectors.

• Troubleshoot and resolve issues with the laser machine or cutting process.

• Deburr and finish parts as required.

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures.

• Collaborate with other team members to meet production schedules and goals.

• Safely operate a forklift to move materials and parts.

Qualifications and Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Proven experience as a Laser Operator, preferably with HK laser systems.

• Strong understanding of laser cutting principles and processes.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

• Proficient with precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, and protractors.

• Basic math and computer skills.

• Experience with forklift operation is preferred.

• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.

• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Good communication skills.

• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

This position operates in a manufacturing environment. The employee will be exposed to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise levels, and some dust and fumes. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required and provided.
