About the Position
Schedule
- Shift Timing: 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM
- Monday–Friday with one random weekday off (not block schedulable)
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing operating rooms before surgical procedures
- Assessing and monitoring patients before, during, and after surgery
- Assisting surgeons and surgical teams during procedures
- Maintaining sterile technique and ensuring patient safety standards
- Handling surgical instruments, supplies, and equipment
- Documenting patient care accurately in the EMR
- Coordinating with anesthesia providers, surgical techs, and physicians
- Responding quickly during emergency or critical procedures
- Participating in on-call coverage for urgent surgeries
- Providing post-operative handoff communication to PACU/recovery staff
Requirements
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of OR RN experience required
- Active Michigan RN License at submission
- BLS (AHA) required
- Preferred experience:
- Orthopedics
- General Surgery
- Endovascular
- Urology
- OB
