Senior Accountant
Kforce is working with a growing manufacturer in the greater Grand Rapids, Michigan (MI) area that is looking to add a Senior Accountant to join their finance team. This role is pivotal in supporting accounting and costing functions across manufacturing and R&D operations. The client offers salary and benefits, 401(k), PTO and great company culture. This position is scheduled as 100 on-site. Duties:
- Lead month-end close activities: journal entries, allocations, reconciliations, and variance analysis
- Senior Accountant will prepare financial statements, reports, and dashboards to inform operational decisions
- Manage R&D project cost tracking and reporting
- Maintain general ledger accounts in compliance with GAAP
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes
- Monitor KPIs to drive financial efficiency
- Assist with quarterly and annual financial forecasts
- Oversee inventory management and cost accounting
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis for strategic initiatives
- Participate in special projects and process improvements
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting
- 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Office Suite
- Experience with a larger ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, Dynamics
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Detail-oriented with a hands-on approach
- Pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience strongly preferred
